Terms of service

Last updated: Friday 31 July 2026

The short version

Hello Mama,

Terms of service pages are where businesses hide things. We'd rather just tell you the parts that actually matter, in plain language, before the longer version below.

  • Our courses are education, not medical care. Aimée is a doctor, but she is not your doctor. Nothing here replaces your own midwife, obstetrician, or maternity team, and buying a course doesn't create a doctor–patient relationship. If something feels wrong with your pregnancy, contact your care provider or emergency services — don't wait for us.
  • What you're buying is access, not ownership. You get to watch the videos and use the workbooks yourself, for as long as we say below. You don't get to share them, resell them, post them, or feed them to an AI.
  • One account, one person. Share your login and we may close the account. Your partner watching alongside you is completely fine — that's not what this means.
  • You can change your mind. Our refund policy gives you 30 days and half the course. Your legal rights sit on top of that and we won't try to talk you out of them.
  • If we get something wrong, we'll fix it. Broken video, missing content, not what we described — tell us and we'll sort it out or refund you.
  • We can't promise outcomes. We can promise the information is accurate, current, and honestly presented. We can't promise a particular birth, because nobody can.

That's the substance. The rest is the detail behind it.

1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Hello Mama website, our online courses, our downloadable materials, and anything else we provide through this store (together, the "Services"). Our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy form part of these Terms.

Our full trading and registration details are at the end of this page. By using the Services or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the Services.

Our store is powered by Shopify, which provides the technology we use to sell to you.

2. Our courses are education, not medical care

This is the most important section on this page, so we've put it near the top rather than buried in capital letters at the bottom.

  • Hello Mama courses provide general educational information about pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • Our content is created by a qualified medical doctor, but she is not acting as your doctor. Watching a course, emailing us, or commenting does not create a doctor–patient, midwife–patient, or any other clinical relationship.
  • Every pregnancy is different. General information cannot account for your history, your risk factors, your scans, or your circumstances. Your own midwife, obstetrician, GP, or maternity team knows those things and we don't.
  • Never delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something you saw in one of our courses. If a course and your care provider disagree, follow your care provider and ask them about it.
  • In an emergency, call your local emergency number or go to your maternity unit. Do not email us. We are not a medical service, we do not monitor messages around the clock, and we cannot help you urgently.
  • Guidance in maternity care varies between countries and changes over time. We work to keep our content current and evidence-based, but local protocols where you give birth take precedence.
  • We do not answer individual clinical questions. If you email us something that amounts to "what should I do about my symptoms," we will tell you to contact your care provider — not because we're being unhelpful, but because answering would be unsafe and wrong.

None of this reduces your rights if our content is inaccurate, faulty, or not as described. It defines what the product is — education — not a disclaimer of responsibility for delivering it properly.

3. Who can buy, and your account

You must be at least 18 to purchase. If you're pregnant and under 18, our courses may still be useful to you, but please buy through a parent, guardian, or your midwife rather than on your own.

Your account is personal to you. You may not sell, transfer, or share it, and you're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Watching alongside your partner, birth partner, or family in your own home is fine and expected — sharing your login with other people so they can access the course separately is not.

Please give us accurate details when you buy, and keep your email address current, since that's how we reach you about access problems and updates.

4. What you're buying, and how long you have access

You are buying a personal licence to access digital content — streamed video lessons and downloadable materials. You are not buying the content itself, and no ownership transfers to you.

  • Course access lasts 24 months from purchase / for as long as the course is offered.
  • Downloaded files are yours to keep for your own personal use, indefinitely.
  • We may update, improve, or re-record course content. Updates are included at no extra cost while your access is live.
  • If we ever retire a course entirely, we'll give existing customers at least 90 days notice so you can download what you need.

5. Orders, prices, and payment

When you place an order you're making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we confirm it and give you access. Payment is taken at checkout.

The price you see is the price you pay. No tax or fees are added at checkout. Prices and promotions can change, but the price that applies to you is the one shown when you ordered, as set out in your order confirmation.

If a price or product description is obviously wrong — a pricing error, a typo — we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honour a mistake. We'll tell you if that happens.

6. Delivery and technical requirements

Access is delivered digitally, straight after payment, to the email address you used. There's nothing to ship.

You'll need a reasonably current browser and a working internet connection. We can't be responsible for your own connection, device, or software — but if the problem is on our side, that's ours to fix. See the refund policy for how we handle technical issues.

7. Refunds and cancellation

Refunds and cancellations are covered in our Refund Policy, which includes our 30-Day Course Guarantee and explains your statutory rights depending on where you live. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

8. What you may and may not do with our content

We licence you to use our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may watch the videos, download the materials, and print workbooks for yourself.

You may not:

  • Copy, republish, upload, or distribute our content anywhere, including social media, messaging groups, or file-sharing services
  • Sell, resell, licence, or rent access to it
  • Screen-record, screenshot, or otherwise capture course videos
  • Use our content to train, fine-tune, or build any AI or machine learning model
  • Use our content commercially — including teaching from it, using it in your own antenatal classes, doula practice, or clinical work — without our written permission
  • Remove or obscure any copyright notice or watermark

"Hello Mama", our logo, and our course names are our trademarks. Everything on the Services — video, text, images, workbooks, design — is owned by us or licensed to us, and protected by copyright law.

If you'd like to use something of ours for teaching or professional purposes, just ask. We're often happy to say yes.

9. Reviews, testimonials, and anything you send us

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the courses, we may use them to improve what we do, without owing you payment.

Your birth story is different. We will never publish your review, testimonial, birth story, photo, or any detail about your pregnancy or birth without asking you first and getting your clear, specific agreement. Information about your health is sensitive, you're entitled to control it, and we treat it that way. You can withdraw that agreement later and we'll take the content down.

Anything you send us must be your own, must be truthful, and must not infringe anyone else's rights or contain anything unlawful or abusive. We may decline to publish, or remove, anything we consider inappropriate.

10. Things you must not do

Please don't use the Services to break the law, infringe our or anyone else's intellectual property, harass or abuse anyone, transmit malware, scrape or harvest data, impersonate anyone, spam other users, or interfere with the security of the site.

Automated agents and tools must identify themselves honestly in their requests, must not disguise themselves as human, and must not circumvent measures we use to control automated access.

11. Third-party services

We rely on third parties to run the store — Shopify for the storefront, payment providers to process your payment, and hosting providers to deliver video. Our site may also link to other websites we don't control. We're not responsible for third-party content or services, and you use them at your own risk under their terms.

12. Relationship with Shopify

Hello Mama is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with Hello Mama. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Hello Mama, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services. You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Hello Mama.

13. Suspending or ending access

We may suspend or close your account, without a refund, if you materially breach these Terms — for example by sharing or distributing our content, or by abusing our team. Where it's practical and fair to do so, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

If we end your access for any reason other than your breach, we'll refund the unused portion of what you paid.

You can stop using the Services at any time. Sections on intellectual property, liability, and governing law continue to apply afterwards.

14. Our responsibility to you, and its limits

We provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. We work hard to keep our content accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee the site will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

Because our courses are educational, we cannot and do not guarantee any particular outcome — about your pregnancy, your birth, your recovery, or your baby. No honest provider of birth education could.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the product the claim relates to.

We do not exclude or limit our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you
  • your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if our content is faulty or not as described

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away rights the law gives you. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions simply don't apply to you.

15. Your responsibility to us

If you use our content commercially or unlawfully — reselling it, republishing it, teaching from it without permission — and that causes us loss or a third-party claim, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result.

This applies to deliberate misuse. It does not apply to ordinary personal use of the courses, and it doesn't make you responsible for our own mistakes.

16. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. Because our courses relate to pregnancy and health, we treat what we learn about you with particular care.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Changes apply to purchases and use from the date the updated version is published — we won't retroactively change the terms of a purchase you've already made. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Estonian law. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

If something goes wrong, please email us first — most things are solved in one message. If we can't resolve it, the dispute resolution bodies listed in our Refund Policy can help.

19. General

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce something straight away, we don't lose the right to enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours if our business is sold, provided your rights are not reduced.
  • These Terms, together with our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us.
  • Headings are for convenience only.
